MIKI MITROVIC.
In creating the skill development concepts used in the Mitrovic Method, Coach Miki has grown his already significant imprint on the sport of basketball. Over the last 25 years, he has dedicated countless hours to coaching children in various Toronto communities, and believes that all children deserve an opportunity to grow through sports. Coach Miki’s illustrious 18-year career saw him play at the top levels internationally, and he is excited for the impact that Momentum can have on Canadian basketball as a whole.
Born in the former Yugoslavia, coach Miki left his hometown at the age of 14 to pursue a career in basketball. By the age of 18, he had signed his first professional contract with the reigning European champions, KK Bosna Sarajevo (EuroLeague). There, he would go on to play a starring role on one of the top teams in all of Europe for the next 12 years, winning various championships and medals along the way. He also represented Yugoslavia internationally on many occasions, at a time when they were the dominant basketball power in the world. After his departure from KK Bosna, Coach Miki made stops in Serbia, Russia, and Israel over the next 8 years and retired at the age of 36. Considered one of the best shooters of his generation in all of Europe, Coach Miki was always highly regarded for his versatile skills and scoring ability.
Following his family’s move to Canada, he had several coaching stops at the university and college levels, before starting his own software development company. Despite his exit from professional coaching, Coach Miki continued to work with various youth organizations for the next 20 years, offering private skill development to those who needed it and, of course, training his own sons. His passion for teaching the game has never wavered, and his involvement in Momentum Sports is the culmination of a very significant career in basketball.
Coach Miki lives in Toronto with his wife, Sonja, and near his sons, Nem and Marko.

CORDELL VEIRA.
Coach Cordell’s positive attitude and passion for helping children succeed are evident every time he steps on the court. By deeply valuing the connection between athlete and coach, he brings the best out of players and guides them towards reaching new levels of motivation and focus. As a two-time U-Sports champion and former NCAA player, Coach Cordell knows what it takes to win, and combines his own dedication to achievement with the joyful aspects of the sport to create a winning environment.
Born in Toronto, Coach Cordell made a name for himself in high school playing at Vaughan Road Academy, and later at Toronto Basketball Academy. His impressive displays on the court included being a top 25 player in the class of 2017, and an eye-popping 86-point performance in a high school game. Coach Cordell was rewarded for his excellent play with a full scholarship to Florida International University (NCAA Div. 1 – CUSA). After 2 years at FIU, he decided to transfer to Carleton University where he went on to win two National Championships and one OUA championship in his two years there.
After concluding his collegiate career and foregoing the pursuit of playing professionally due to health reasons, Coach Cordell has turned his attention to how he can help the next generation of Toronto basketball players. His charisma and positive energy have been a welcome addition to Momentum’s programming, and his motivation to help young athletes shows in every session on the court.
Coach Cordell lives in Toronto surrounded by family and is easily the best dunker out of all of our coaches!
JASONN HANNIBAL.
Still actively playing as a professional, Coach Jasonn never misses an opportunity to put a smile on someone’s face. His popularity with parents and athletes stems from a desire to connect with all people he encounters, and especially with the children he coaches. Over the course of his 16-year career, he has seen the value that basketball can provide in a child’s life and is turning his attention towards how he can help the next generation of youth succeed in their lives.
Born in Mississauga, Coach Jasonn was a late bloomer in the game of basketball. Always bigger than his peers, he started gravitating toward the game when his towering presence could no longer be ignored. Standing at 6’10 by the end of high school, Coach J dominated the competition and was named Mississauga Athlete of the Year in 2007. From there, he received a full scholarship to the University of Portland (NCAA Div. 1 – WCC) and became teammates with Coach Nem in 2008, where they played together for 3 years. During his 4 years at Portland, Coach J was a valuable member of the winningest class in school history and graduated with a degree in music.
Upon graduation in 2011, he signed his first pro contract in Slovenia (SKL League), and has since played professionally in 8 countries over the span of 12 years. In 2017-2018, Coach J participated in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas as a member of the Washington Wizards. Although still actively playing, he will be turning his focus to coaching youth every time he is in town, and through his wealth of experience and warm personality, hopes to make an impact on all children he crosses paths with as a coach.
Coach J lives in Mississauga, and definitely cannot beat any of the other coaches in a shooting contest, but he can certainly dunk on all of them!

MARKO MITROVIC.
Coach Marko played an instrumental role in the implementation of the Mitrovic Method during Momentum’s early days. Through his soft-spoken approach, he was able to get through to any athlete he crossed paths with, and help them gain an understanding for the nuances of skill and character development. Having had his own playing career cut short due to injury, he knows how valuable and short one’s time playing a sport can be, and was able to bring the best out of others as a result.
Born in Toronto, Coach Marko was active on the basketball courts from the time he took his first steps as a baby. Having developed a liking for the sport early, he started to take it very seriously in middle school before going on to leading roles at both Northern Secondary School and Metropolitan Preparatory Academy. Having graduated as Valedictorian of his class at Metro Prep, Coach Marko attended Phillips Exeter Academy, located in New Hampshire as a post-graduate. Having had his promising season at Exeter, and subsequent scholarship opportunities, cut short due to injury, he accepted an offer to play in his hometown for the University of Toronto. After suffering yet another serious injury, Coach Marko decided that it was time to leave the game behind and focus on his studies and future away from the court.
After leaving the game as a player, he found what all Momentum coaches did at some point, which is a passion for coaching youth basketball. An excellent teacher and communicator, Coach Marko always found a way to connect with his players and joy in trying to help others develop their skills. He played an integral part in the development of the Momentum systems, philosophies and community. Coach Marko has since graduated from the University of Toronto (2022) and decided to pursue career opporunities overseas, but his impact on establishing Momentum’s culture will remain for years to come.
Coach Marko lives in London (UK) and is an avid Everton Football Club fan.
